ABOUT SHARON

Sharon Boothroyd is a professional financial planner with Independent Planning Group Inc., having nine years experience in the field. Licensed in both Ontario and Quebec, Sharon provides her clients with solutions for investments, retirement, children's education, and estate issues. In 2006 she completed the requirements for the Certified Financial Planner designation.

Her past business background includes a family retail business, and the successful operation of a Second Cup franchise in Ottawa. She served on the marketing board for Second Cup, representing the Ottawa area stores for three years. As well, she represented mall merchants on the marketing board of the mall where the business was located.

For nearly twenty years, Sharon has been involved with the Women's Business Network of Ottawa, where she was President for 2005. She continues to support the Network with involvement on the committee that puts together the Businesswomen of the Year Awards Gala, held each spring. This has enhanced her exposure to business issues in numerous ways.

Sharon enjoys working closely with her clients to achieve good risk management as well as investment growth. Her practice is broadly based, including single men and women, families, and business owners. She pays close attention to intergenerational issues. Her financial plans are tailored to meet the specific concerns of each client.

Sharon lives in Manotick with her husband, Allan. They have two children, and three grandchildren. They have been active in their community for 24 years. Both enjoy gardening, swimming, and travel.
