- Blue Box - every 2 weeks - cans/bottles

- Leaf & Yard Waste - weekly April through November with Green Bin (see Calendar for dates)
- Green Bin program - starts Jan. 4, 2010: pickup every 2 weeks through March; weekly April through November.
- Some things that go in the Green Bin:
- food, meat, fish, bones
- dairy products, egg, egg shells, vegetable oil
- compostable plant-based garbage
- food-soiled paper and cardboard (NOT in Black Box)
- kleenex, paper towels soiled with organic material (not oil)
- kitty litter (NOT in plastic bags)
- compostable garbage (normally plant-based)
- Ottawa Hazardous Waste Program:
Household Special Waste Facility, 4475 Trail Rd (off Moodie Dr. north of Bankfield), 580-2400 - Latex paint - harden the paint with clumping kitty litter or paint hardener, then put in your regular garbage. Recycle empty, cleaned paint can (lid removed) in your Blue Box.
- CF bulbs (fluorescent) - can be returned for recycling to Home Depot or IKEA.
- Recycling blue/black boxes - can purchased at Home Hardware.
- Manotick Recycling Directory - recycling computers, electronics and materials, selling used items, donating household goods, clothing, appliances, and buying refurbished products.
- City of Ottawa Leaf & Yard Waste - Homes in some rural areas receive leaf and yard waste collection only four times a year.

energy efficient light bulbs (fluorescent), aerosol containers, barbecue starters, brake fluid, chemicals, cleaners, disinfectants, fire extinguishers, fungicides, furniture stripper, gasoline, herbicides, insecticides, needles, oven cleaners, paint, pool chemicals, propane tanks, stains, turpentine, window cleaner, wood preservatives.
"Take it Back!" retailers accept oil and other products such as:
antifreeze, appliances, batteries, building supplies, butane canisters, car parts, computer keyboards, computer monitors, garden pots, gasoline, motor oil, nails and wire, oil filters, paint thinner, peat pots & plastic flats, prescription drugs, propane tanks, scrap metal, styrofoam flats, tires, toner cartridges, used needles and syringes
